232 Palestinian Journalists Slain During 22-Month Israeli Assault on Gaza, Says PJS

Gaza: The number of Palestinian journalists who were slain in the 22-month Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip rose to 232 male and female reporters operating in media institutions, Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate (PJS) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The last one was the Palestinian journalist Ibrahim Hajjaj, who had been martyred in an Israeli shelling that hit Al Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, while he was documenting the crime of genocide against Gazans,
PJS stressed that targeting Hajjaj and other reporters is a systematic field execution intended to muzzle the voice of fact in Palestine and intimidate media professionals.

It held the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for this crime and called upon the international community to act immediately, protect the Palestinian journalists, and hold the murderers to account.

Throughout their offensive in Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces intentionally target journalists and media institutions. They injured approximately 400 journalists, detained 40 others, and destroyed the vast majority of local and international media premises operating in the Strip.

The Israeli carnage has forced all local radio offices to close due to displacement and the lack of electricity and internet connections.
