Butwal: As the use of electric vehicles (EVs) continues to rise across Nepal, Shashila Motors Pvt. Ltd. has formally inaugurated a state-of-the-art EV charging station in Driver Tole, Tilottama Municipality–3, Butwal.
The new facility can simultaneously charge up to 14 vehicles and has a capacity of 1,000 KVA.
The charging station was inaugurated by Ram Krishna Khan, Mayor of Tilottama Municipality.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Khan highlighted the importance of promoting electric mobility as a key step toward a greener transportation system. He emphasized that such infrastructure development not only contributes to environmental conservation but also supports sustainable growth. He praised the proactive role of the private sector in advancing these initiatives.
Santosh Khatiwada, Managing Director of Shashila Motors, noted that while the demand for EVs is increasing rapidly in Nepal, the growth of charging infrastructure has not kept pace.
“We established this station not only for commercial reasons but also as part of our environmental responsibility,” he said. Khatiwada added that the company plans to expand similar charging stations to other parts of the country under a long-term strategy.
Dadhiram Kharel, Chairperson of Western Nepal Bus Entrepreneurs Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the importance of charging stations and workshops in the operation of electric vehicles. He stated that it was through the continuous efforts of his organization that Shashila Motors was able to implement this important project.
According to the company, the new charging station offers fast, reliable, and tech-friendly services for all types of electric vehicles, including buses, cars, and vans. The facility is expected to make Butwal a key hub in Nepal’s growing green transportation network.
