Kathmandu: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed above the 3,000-point mark on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, marking a significant milestone after nearly a year.
At 11:08 AM, NEPSE surged by 18.37 points to reach 3,001.02 points, crossing the psychological 3,000-point threshold. Last year, 30 June 2024, NEPSE was at 2,037 points.
Over the next 33 trading days, it gained 963 points, peaking at 3,000.81 points on 15 August 2024).
After fluctuating below this level for months, Sunday’s trading session saw NEPSE reclaim the 3,001-point mark—a key indicator of renewed investor confidence.
Within just eight minutes of trading, the market recorded a total turnover of Rs 92.35 crore, reflecting active participation from investors.
