Gold price drops by Rs 4,000 in four days in Nepal, silver edges up


Kathmandu: The price of gold in the Nepali market has declined sharply by Rs 4,000 per tola over the course of four trading days, while silver has shown a slight upward trend during the same period.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of hallmark gold stood at Rs 197,600 per tola on 22 July. However, by Monday, it had dropped to Rs 193,600 per tola.

The federation stated that gold prices remained stable on both Sunday and Monday, and transactions took place at the same rate on both days.

Earlier, on 21 April, gold had reached its highest-ever price in the Nepali market, hitting Rs 197,900 per tola.

In contrast to gold, silver prices have slightly increased. Silver, which was being traded at Rs 2,290 per tola the previous day, rose by Rs 5 on Monday to reach Rs 2,295 per tola, according to FENEGOSIDA.
