Bajaj’s Chetak electric scooter gets 200 bookings after expo debut

Kathmandu: Bajaj’s newly launched Chetak 3501 electric scooter has received 200 bookings in Nepal, following its debut at the “NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025” and through direct showroom sales.

The six-day expo, organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), ran from August 7 to 12 in Kathmandu. Bajaj’s official distributor, Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, unveiled the Chetak 3501 EV just days before the event, drawing significant attention from potential buyers.

The Chetak 3501 delivers a range of 153 kilometers on a single charge, with its 3.5 kWh battery reaching 80 percent charge in about 4 hours. Priced at Rs 324,900, the scooter targets urban commuters seeking an eco-friendly yet feature-rich ride.

Key features include a 35-litre boot space, LCD console, music control, hill-hold assist, reverse light, guide-me-home lamp, and smartphone connectivity. The IP67-certified metal body ensures durability in varying weather conditions. The scooter also boasts a smart TFT touchscreen control system and ample under-seat storage.

With Nepal’s electric mobility market steadily growing, Bajaj’s strong booking numbers suggest increasing consumer interest in EV two-wheelers.

The Chetak 3501’s blend of modern technology, practicality, and competitive pricing could position it as a leading choice in the country’s emerging electric scooter segment.
