Kathmandu: Hotel Sarathi, located in Dhulikhel, has reported a significant 61 percent increase in its annual business in 2024 compared to the previous year. The hotel recorded revenues of Rs 106 million in 2024, up from Rs 67 million in 2023 and Rs 52 million in 2022.
According to the company, overall business growth between 2020 and 2024 stood at 45 percent.
Established in 2014, the hotel spans 2.93 hectares and operates under the brand name “Hotel Sarathi,” offering 75 rooms. It has secured credit ratings for loans totaling Rs 600 million — Rs 590 million for long-term debt and Rs 10 million for short-term debt.
Initially launched in 2019 with 20 rooms, the property underwent a major expansion, reaching 75 rooms by the end of the last fiscal year. The upgraded facility now includes four spa rooms and one presidential suite.
However, alongside expansion, the hotel experienced a 44 percent decline in occupancy rate over the 11 months of the last fiscal year, with a 46 percent drop recorded in 2024. Despite this, the company achieved a net profit margin of 9.40 percent in 2024, slightly higher than the 9.17 percent recorded in 2023.
Hotel Sarathi is now gearing up for an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company plans to issue 1.5 million shares — representing 30 percent of its issued capital — worth Rs 150 million. Citizens Capital has been appointed as the issue manager.
The company is chaired by Prahlad Pyakurel, with Dhruva Sharma serving as the managing director.
