Salt Trading Corporation receives massive chemical fertilizer shipment at Kolkata port


Kathmandu: Salt Trading Corporation Limited has announced that 1.523 million bags of chemical fertilizer have arrived at Kolkata Port in India and are being rapidly transported to the corporation’s godowns in Nepal.

The corporation recently imported a total of 1.523 million bags of chemical fertilizer, including 440,000 bags of urea and 1.083 million bags of DAP. The corporation has clarified that it has already corresponded with provincial governments regarding quota distribution of the fertilizers arriving at the godowns, and the provincial governments have completed quota allocation to local municipalities.

In a recent notice about the status of chemical fertilizer distribution, the corporation stated: “All registered fertilizer dealers are requested to coordinate with their respective municipalities and corporation offices to collect and distribute fertilizers according to the allocated quotas.”

While reports of chemical fertilizer shortages have been circulating in various media and social platforms, the corporation has drawn attention to the matter through its notice, confirming the arrival and ongoing distribution process.
