Kathmandu: Citizens Bank International Limited organized a leadership seminar titled “Empowering Leadership in Bagmati: A Seminar for Performance and Excellence” in Bagmati Province, bringing together provincial heads, cluster heads, branch managers, and other colleagues.
The programme was attended by the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Ganesh Raj Pokharel, Deputy CEO, and senior executives. The seminar reviewed last fiscal year’s performance and discussed priorities for the current fiscal year, with a focus on strengthening collaboration between the central and provincial levels.
Following a similar programme held earlier in Madhesh Province, the initiative is set to expand across other provinces in the coming months, the bank announced.
Citizens Bank also highlighted its strong financial performance in FY 2024/25 (ending mid-July 2025). The bank achieved double-digit growth in key indicators including loans, deposits, and net interest income, while successfully reducing cost of funds, lowering the base rate, and improving credit risk management.
During the review period, loan disbursement rose by 11.15 percent to Rs 175.16 billion, compared to Rs 157.58 billion a year earlier. Deposits increased by 11.69 percent to Rs 214.08 billion — nearly Rs 22 billion higher than the previous year. Net interest income grew by 11.20 percent to Rs 6.36 billion.
The credit-to-deposit (CD) ratio stood at 81.91 percent, reflecting balanced liquidity management. Return on assets was recorded at 0.55 percent and return on equity at 5.81 percent.
Further cementing its market standing, Citizens Bank was recently awarded the prestigious Bank of the Year 2024 title. It also launched Nepal’s first Citizens FonePay Credit Card and virtual credit card in partnership with FonePay. In another pioneering move, the bank enabled share applications and CRN number services directly through its mobile banking app.
With a wide presence across 61 districts, Citizens Bank operates 200 branches, 169 ATMs, 3 extension counters, and 74 branchless banking units, serving over 1.92 million customers nationwide.
