Citizens Bank hosts leadership seminar in Koshi, reports double-digit growth in key indicators

Kathmandu: Citizens Bank International Limited organized a programme titled “Seminar on Koshi Leadership: Inspiring Performance and Achieving Excellence” for its province heads, cluster heads, branch managers, and other colleagues in Koshi Province.

The seminar was held in the presence of the bank’s Chief Executive Officer Ganesh Raj Pokharel, Deputy CEO, and other senior executives.

During the seminar, participants reviewed the performance of the last fiscal year and discussed priorities for the current year, with special focus on strengthening collaboration between the central office and provincial branches. Similar seminars had recently been held in Madhesh and Bagmati provinces, and the bank announced plans to gradually organize such events across all provinces.

The bank emphasized that, like in Koshi, province-focused programmes will continue in other regions as part of its long-term strategy.

As of the end of FY 2024/25, Citizens Bank International Limited achieved double-digit growth in key indicators such as loans, deposits, and net interest income, while successfully reducing cost of funds, lowering its base rate, and improving credit risk management.

Loan disbursement rose by 11.15 percent, reaching Rs 175.16 billion, compared to Rs 157.58 billion at the end of FY 2023/24. Deposits also increased by 11.69 percent, totaling Rs 214.08 billion—about Rs 22 billion more than the previous year.

Recently honoured with the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” award, Citizens Bank has also introduced several firsts in Nepal: the “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card”, a virtual credit card launched in collaboration with Fonepay, and the facility to apply for shares and obtain RIC number services directly via its mobile banking app.
