SPG Automobiles unveils first look of much-awaited iCAR V-23 in Nepal

Kathmandu: SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Omoda & Jaecoo vehicles in Nepal, has unveiled the first glimpse of the highly anticipated iCAR V-23. The preview event was organized in Kathmandu on Monday.

Both Omoda & Jaecoo and iCAR are part of Chinese automobile giant Chery Group, which has held the position of China’s largest automobile exporter for the past two decades.

Chery has established a strong international presence by exporting to more than 80 countries and regions worldwide and delivering over 13 million vehicles across the globe.

The iCAR V-23 sets a new benchmark in its segment by combining rugged aesthetics with advanced technology. With its cyber-tech design, this retro-classic SUV is not only tough but also built with highly refined engineering. It features a 100 kW single-motor setup producing 180 Nm of torque, paired with a 59.93 kWh battery pack.

In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, 1,845 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, ensuring a balanced stance and spacious proportions.

Reflecting the growing global consumer interest in rugged-looking electric vehicles, including in Nepal, the V-23 will be available in six different colour options. Its cabin prioritizes comfort and practicality, with ample front space that allows easy entry and exit from both doors, while the rear seating area is even more spacious.

Inside, the SUV is equipped with specially designed mechanical knobs (dials) that combine tactile features with modern styling. More than 70 percent of the body is built with high-strength steel, ensuring a high-rigidity structure. The V-23 also complies with enterprise-grade battery safety standards, underscoring iCAR’s commitment to durability and safety.

At the event, participants experienced the vehicle’s intelligent tech features firsthand and even got the opportunity to test-drive it. SPG Automobiles, which also distributes Omoda & Jaecoo in Nepal, announced its goal of taking the country’s electric vehicle experience to a new level.

iCAR is a new-generation electric vehicle brand, globally unveiled in August 2025. Its first model, the V-23, will soon be launched in Nepal, blending rugged adventure-ready capability with smart technology to redefine the SUV category.

The vehicle has been priced at Rs 4.7 million.
