Kathmandu: Quality Diet & Food Products, the company that sells Top and other biscuit brands, recorded a trade worth Rs 636 million in the first nine months of the last fiscal year.
According to the company, it achieved Rs 636 million in sales during the period, averaging over Rs 40 million per month in biscuits and related products.
The company had recorded a trade of Rs 669 million in 2024, Rs 648 million in 2023, and Rs 653 million in 2022.
Established in 1999, the company has been producing and distributing various types of biscuits in the Nepali market. Its main brands include Tasty, Butter Cracker, and Top, which have strong demand in the market.
Located in Duhabi, Sunsari, the company operates with a production capacity of 6,474 metric tons annually.
Backed by the Kabra Group, the company has obtained a credit rating of Rs 743.3 million for both long-term and short-term loans. The Kabra Group has been active in business for the past four decades, while the company itself is owned by four shareholders.
The company said its three major biscuit brands account for the highest share of its trade due to consistent market demand.
With rising demand, the company’s capacity utilization has also increased. In 2024, capacity use stood at 49 percent, which rose to 60 percent in the last fiscal year.
In the nine-month period of the last fiscal year, the company reported a net profit of 3.16 percent. In comparison, profit stood at 2.47 percent in 2024 and 0.64 percent in 2023.
The company’s debt level has fluctuated over the years. In 2022, total loans stood at Rs 466 million, which rose to Rs 627 million in 2024. However, by the first nine months of the last fiscal year, total debt had declined to Rs 572 million.
The company highlighted that Nepal’s biscuit market faces intense competition from both international and domestic brands, which has created significant pressure on prices. To sustain production, it imports raw materials such as wheat flour, ghee, palm oil, and sugar.
