Kathmandu: Kathmandu Marketing & Trading House recorded trade worth Rs 45.38 billion in the nine months of the last fiscal year.
In 2024, the company had conducted trade worth Rs 58.67 billion, while in 2023 it traded Rs 53.74 billion, in 2022 Rs 42.22 billion, in 2021 Rs 28.93 billion, and in 2020 Rs 26.42 billion.
The company has long been engaged in importing FMCG goods and distributing them in the Nepali market. It imports food items, toiletries, cosmetics, and various other products.
Particularly, the company has been importing products from brands such as Mondelez (Cadbury, Oreo, Bournvita), Colgate-Palmolive, Reckitt Benckiser (Dettol, Harpic, Lysol), Bikano, Tiffany, among others.
Although the company began its trading business in 1992, it was officially established only in 2004. The ownership structure of the company is 67 percent with Ballabh Raj Sigdel, 11 percent with Vijay Raj Sigdel, and 22 percent with Samir Bikram Thapa. The company has secured a rating of Rs 16.6 billion for short-term loans.
In 2022, the company started importing Reckitt Benckiser, Colgate-Palmolive, and Mondelez products. Among these, Mondelez has been found to be highly popular in the Nepali market, accounting for 49 percent of the company’s total trade during the nine months of the last fiscal year.
