Kathmandu: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, which has been providing customers with advanced, secure, and convenient banking services, has been honoured with a prestigious award from the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata, India.
The bank received the award under the category of “Asset Quality.”
On 29 August 2025, at the “3rd Emerging Asia Banking Conclave and Awards” held in New Delhi, the bank was recognized for this achievement.
The Banking Conclave and Awards, regarded as the most prestigious in the BIMSTEC region, saw the participation of banks from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, and Bangladesh.
The bank was awarded in recognition of its notable work in asset structuring, effective mobilization of assets, and improvement in asset quality. The bank believes that this award will further help establish its identity in the international arena.
Recently, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank and India’s leading financial institution HDFC Bank signed an agreement to promote cross-border financial services and facilitate payments from India to Nepal. Under this agreement, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has introduced a system that enables its customers to receive payments from India to Nepal.
