Kathmandu: The stock market witnessed a significant decline.
On Tuesday, the third trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index dropped by 19.89 points, closing at 2741.97.
On the previous day, Monday, Nepse had risen by 12.03 points to reach 2761.86. Similarly, on Sunday, Nepse had fallen by 31.17 points, while last Thursday it had also dropped by 38.01 points.
On Tuesday, the total transaction value in Nepse amounted to Rs. 4.43 billion. In comparison, the previous day, Monday, had recorded transactions worth over Rs. 5 billion.
Among the companies traded on Tuesday, the share prices of 29 companies increased, while those of 221 companies declined.
