Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today took to a social site, expressing his sorrow over the passing of renowned singer Indira Gole Gurung.
On his Facebook post, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the lovers of Nepali folk music and paid tribute to the late singer, recognizing her contribution to Nepali folk music.
“Tamang Selo is a significant and popular genre in Nepali folk music. I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Indira Gole Gurung, who earned both fame and identity in Nepali folk music and especially in Tamang Selo,” he wrote on his Facebook account.
Gurung, who had been battling cancer for a long time, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 48.
