One killed during Gen Z protests in New Baneshwar

Kathmandu: At least one person has died Monday during the ongoing Gen Z-led protests in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu, after being injured in police firing.

According to Civil Hospital authorities, the individual who had sustained gunshot wounds during the clashes died while undergoing treatment. The victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed.

The protests, which escalated earlier today, saw demonstrators break through police barricades and enter the premises of Nepal’s federal parliament. Security forces responded with tear gas, baton charges, and rubber bullets in an attempt to disperse the crowd.

Local officials have since imposed a curfew across key areas of New Baneshwar in an effort to restore order.
