Kathmandu: Civil Hospital in Baneshwar has issued an urgent appeal Monday to other medical facilities, saying it is overwhelmed by the influx of injured protesters from the ongoing Gen Z Movement demonstrations.
Hospital Director Mohan Regmi said the number of injured had surged beyond capacity and called on other hospitals to step in and provide treatment.
“Due to the increasing pressure of injured protesters, we request other hospitals to assist in managing treatment,” Regmi said in a public statement.
The hospital is currently treating around 100 injured individuals, and has confirmed that five people have died while receiving care.
Police crackdowns on the protests have left hundreds wounded, many of whom were rushed to Civil Hospital after clashes near the Parliament building in New Baneshwar.
