Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed ministers from his Communist Party of Nepal–Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) not to resign from their posts.
Oli urged his cabinet colleagues to remain in office despite mounting pressure.
The prime minister told his ministers there was no need to panic under the current circumstances.
“A probe committee has already been formed. You do not need to be afraid. It is not necessary to resign hastily at this moment,” Oli said. “His party should not be unsettled by the actions of the Nepali Congress or others.”
Meanwhile, two Congress ministers—Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Agriculture Minister Ramnath Adhikari—have already submitted their resignations.
No formal decision has yet emerged from UML ministers, though reports suggest that Health Minister Pradeep Paudel and Tourism Minister Badri Pandey are also considering stepping down.
