Gunfire erupts at PM Oli’s residence amid protests

Kathmandu: Gunfire was reported at the residence of Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Balkot, after protesters attempted to seize the property.

Security personnel opened fire to repel the demonstrators.

Angered by the killing of 19 youths in Monday’s protest by the Gen Z group where security forces used force, citizens have been attacking party offices and leaders’ residences. During one such attempt to occupy Oli’s residence in Balkot, police responded with gunfire.
