Kathmandu: Pradeep Yadav, Nepal’s Minister for Water Supply, has tendered his resignation in the wake of the tragic deaths of 19 youths during the Gen Z protests.
Minister Yadav expressed that it was no longer appropriate for him to remain in the government under these circumstances. He addressed the youth directly, acknowledging them as his primary supporters and source of energy, and stated that he was resigning in protest against the government’s crackdown on the Gen Z movement.
Earlier, Minister of Agriculture Ram Nath Adhikari from Nepali Congress had also resigned.
Members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have begun announcing their resignations as well, signalling growing dissent within the government coalition.
