Protesters set fire to Hilton Hotel in Kathmandu amid widening unrest

Kathmandu: Demonstrators involved in the Gen Z movement set fire to the Hilton Hotel in Naxal Tuesday.

The attack followed recent reports that Jayabir Deuba, son of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, has investments in the hotel—a revelation that sparked anger among protesters, who then vandalized the property before igniting the blaze.

Mass protests are continuing in Kathmandu and other major cities across Nepal. Demonstrators have been targeting the homes of top political leaders, party headquarters, and police stations with stone-pelting and arson.
