Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Singh resigns amid national turmoil

Kathmandu: Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Singh, has resigned from his post, announcing his decision through a statement on social media.

Singh wrote that serving as an elected representative with the trust and votes of the people had been the greatest honour of his life.

However, he said the current situation, in which the government has failed to ensure the safety of its citizens, compelled him to step down with dignity.

“It was the greatest honour of my life to be elected as a people’s representative through the trust and votes of citizens. But the present circumstances, where the lives of our own people cannot be safeguarded, have compelled me to take this decision with self-respect. Nothing is greater than the lives of our citizens. With unwavering belief in this principle, and with responsibility toward the rights and future of the people, I hereby resign from the post of Chief Minister of Madhesh Province,” Singh stated.
