President Paudel urges all to ensure peaceful parliamentary elections on March 4


Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has appealed to all sides to extend their cooperation in successfully conducting the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 4.

In a statement issued on Saturday, President Paudel noted that the country has entered a peaceful resolution after a grave political crisis. He stressed that the upcoming election should be taken as a crucial opportunity to strengthen democratic practices.

“The nation has found a peaceful exit after an extremely difficult, unusual, and fearful situation,” the statement read. “The constitution has survived, the parliamentary system has survived, and the federal democratic republic has been preserved. Within six months, the people now have the opportunity to complete the parliamentary elections and move further along the path of an advanced democracy.”

The President sincerely urged all concerned to make the most of this hard-earned opportunity by ensuring that the elections succeed in winning the people’s trust and advancing political stability.
