Kathmandu: Youths of Gen-Z group have organised a peaceful gathering at Maitighar today on the occasion of Constitution Day.
They expressed the view that no one is above the constitution and the way out for the country from present problems should be sought through constitution.
The speakers opined that the country would move ahead following the constitution and an environment would be created where only capable candidates would be elected in the upcoming election.
On the occasion, advocate Hari Prasad Bhatta shared that the system should be reformed in accordance with the constitution. He argued that improvement was possible remaining within the constitution as Gen-Zers lost their lives for reforms.
“Discussion on constitution’s shortcomings and improvement to be made in it is needed at a time when the Constitution Day is being observed in the new context. We have not wanted any improvement crossing the constitution,” he underlined.
Similarly, advocate Manish Khanal reiterated that no one is beyond the constitution and it is necessary to move ahead remaining within the supreme law of the land.
“Efforts were made to set a narrative that the Gen-Z protest can reverse the provisions of the constitution in two days, but it was not possible. There is a transitional period of six months and conspiracy can be plotted during this period as well. All should be aware to stop it,” Khanal argued.
The youths laid emphasis that all should move ahead together to fulfill the youth’s aspiration for change.
