Minister Kharel announces free internet in 10 major cities within 5 months


Kathmandu: Newly appointed Minister for Information, Communication, and Technology Jagdish Kharel has decided to provide free internet service in public spaces of the country’s 10 major cities within the next five months.

After taking the oath of office on Monday, Minister Kharel assumed responsibility at the ministry the same day and made the decision after revising an initial proposal presented by ministry staff.

According to his directive, free internet facilities will be expanded to public locations in 10 major cities outside Kathmandu.
