Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has amended the Voter List Act, 2016, through an ordinance. The ordinance was issued on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
According to the existing Act, voters added to the voter roll after the announcement of election dates were not eligible to vote.
The government introduced the ordinance in view of the situation where many youths who participated in the Gen Z movement were not included in the voter list.
