Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has called on all sectors to contribute to the Reconstruction Fund.
The government established the fund on Wednesday to rebuild physical infrastructure damaged during the Generation-Z movement on September 8 and 9. Alongside the fund’s creation, a Reconstruction Committee chaired by the Finance Minister has also been formed, and a reconstruction action plan has been approved.
At a press conference, Minister Ghising said the destruction caused by arson and vandalism had inflicted heavy losses, making joint efforts essential for economic recovery and rebuilding. He urged federal, provincial, and local governments, the private sector, Nepali citizens at home and abroad, the Non-Resident Nepali community, friendly nations, development partners, and international organizations to contribute to the National Reconstruction Fund.
The government has appealed to everyone—from ordinary citizens to state bodies and foreign partners—to join hands in the reconstruction campaign.
