Modern Eye Hospital established in Manthali


Manthali (Ramechhap): The Tilganga Surgical Community Eye Centre in Manthali has completed the construction of a state-of-the-art health facility. The new building was officially opened today during a ceremony held at the site.

The two-storeid, 15-room structure, which cost a total of 15 million, was inaugurated by Roman Greniger, Vice President of Vision Himalayan Switzerland.

For the building’s construction, the Nepal Eye Programme, Tilganga Eye Hospital, and Vision Himalayan Switzerland collectively contributed 55 percent of the construction cost, while the Tilganga Surgical Community Eye Centre Ramechhap provided the remaining 45 percent.

Dr Suman Karmacharya, the chairman of Eye Centre Ramechhap, remarked that the only one eye hospital in the district, this new facility, will significantly enhance access to services for patients suffering from eye conditions.

Previously, services were offered from a temporary tent with assistance from Tilganga Eye Hospital.
