Nepal participates in UN Troop Contributing Countries Chiefs’ Conclave in New Delhi

New Delhi: The United Nations Troop Contributing Countries (TCC) Chiefs’ Conclave 2025 convened in New Delhi, bringing together top military leaders from around the world to strengthen cooperation in peacekeeping operations and enhance defence partnerships.

The high-level discussion focused on expanding defence collaboration, boosting joint training initiatives, and reinforcing coordination in United Nations peacekeeping missions. The conclave provided a platform for participating nations to share best practices, address emerging security challenges, and develop strategies to improve the effectiveness and safety of UN peacekeepers deployed in conflict zones worldwide.

Nepal, one of the largest and most consistent contributors to UN peacekeeping missions, also took part in the conclave. The Nepali delegation, led by Lieutenant General Pradeep Jung, ACOAS, Nepali Army, highlighted the country’s longstanding commitment to global peace, emphasizing its experience in complex and high-risk missions across Africa, the Middle East, and other regions. Nepal’s participation underscored its readiness to collaborate in enhancing interoperability, training standards, and the welfare of peacekeepers serving under the UN flag.

During the sessions, leaders underscored the importance of collective commitment to international peace and security. They emphasized that evolving global threats—ranging from terrorism to humanitarian crises—require unified responses and stronger inter-military cooperation. The participating chiefs also discussed ways to modernize peacekeeping frameworks through technology integration, improved communication systems, and capacity-building programs.

Both leaders from India, Nepal and other participating countries reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular defence dialogue and institutional exchanges. The conclave concluded with a shared call for sustained collaboration to ensure that peacekeeping missions remain robust, responsive, and aligned with the UN’s evolving mandates—reaffirming the collective resolve to uphold peace, stability, and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
