Kathmandu: A long-term partnership has been established between Lumbini Lions and Extratech Oval Cricket Ground in Bhairahawa.
The agreement was signed by Binod Kunwar on behalf of Extratech Oval and Ishwar Jisi, Chairman of Lumbini Lions.
As per the agreement, Extratech Oval will now serve as the official home ground and training center for Lumbini Lions. This partnership is based on a shared vision to develop world-class cricket infrastructure in Western Nepal.
Under this agreement, Lumbini Lions will conduct training sessions, practice matches, coaching camps, and strategic meetings at Extratech Oval. The ground will also host preparations for future years and serve as the venue for domestic matches of national and international cricket tournaments.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Lumbini Lions Chairman Ishwar Jisi said, “Extratech Oval is not just a ground for us; it is the home of Lumbini Lions and will shape our identity. It will be the foundation of our preparation and journey. We extend special thanks to the Extra Over team for their significant work through private investment. We are committed to supporting and partnering with them. We believe this will contribute greatly not only to Lumbini but to the overall development of Nepali cricket. Together, we aim to elevate Nepali cricket to new heights.”
Similarly, Binod Kunwar, representative of Extratech Oval, stated, “This partnership will strengthen our commitment to developing world-class cricket facilities in Nepal. We firmly believe this agreement will send a far-reaching positive message for the development of cricket in Nepal and Lumbini Province.”
As part of the agreement, Extratech Oval will provide facilities such as the main oval, practice nets, pitches, floodlights, ground maintenance equipment, and a clubhouse. This is expected to offer Lumbini Lions a professional training and preparation environment throughout the year.
