Nepal Rastra Bank elevates Rajan Bikram Thapa to executive director amid leadership transition

Kathmandu: Rajan Bikram Thapa has been promoted to the position of Executive Director at Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the country’s central bank.

The vacancy arose following the mandatory retirement of the previous Executive Director, Dr Gunakar Bhatta, who completed seven years of service in the Authorized Special category.

In line with the Nepal Rastra Bank Employees’ Service By-laws, 2011 (including the third amendment), Regulation 52, the promotion was drawn from eligible directors (First Authorized) level officers. As per Sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 65 of the same by-laws, Director (First Authorized) Thapa has been elevated to Executive Director (Authorized Special Category).

Thapa will serve in the Office of the Governor.
