Kathmandu: Louvre Hotels Group, one of the world’s largest hotel management companies from France, is rapidly expanding in Nepal. The group has already taken over management of seven international five-star and upscale hotels across the country – with three more set to open their doors by the end of 2025.
Louvre Hotels Group (part of China’s Jin Jiang International, the world’s second-largest hotel group) entered Nepal through the Royal Tulip Kathmandu in Lalitpur and quickly added the Royal Tulip Chitwan in Sauraha. Both are already operational.
Next in line:
Royal Tulip Budhanilkantha (Kathmandu valley) – A luxury 84-room resort spread over 20 ropani in Dandagaun, Budhanilkantha. Soft opening planned for 31 December 2025. It will feature 54 rooms in the main building and the rest in private villas. According to Classic View Resort chairman Mukunda Kunwar, the project was delayed slightly to increase capacity and finish technical preparations.
Coming in 2025 and beyond:
Golden Tulip in Bhairahawa (4-star boutique)
Sarovar Hotel in Biratnagar
Sarovar Hotel in Birgunj
Two additional properties in Nepalgunj and Janakpur
This brings Louvre’s total Nepal portfolio to seven hotels under brands such as Royal Tulip, Golden Tulip, and Sarovar – a clear sign of the group’s aggressive push into the Nepali hospitality market.
With more than 1,750 hotels already managed in 70 countries worldwide, Louvre Hotels Group is bringing international five-star standards to key tourist and business hubs across Nepal at an unprecedented pace.
