Kathmandu: The Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort, a luxury five-star property perched above Dhulikhel, has recorded impressive revenue of Rs 186 million (approximately US$ 1.4 million) in the last fiscal year, marking a sharp jump from Rs 121 million earned in calendar year 2024.
Originally registered in 2014 as Omstone Hotel, the resort officially opened in July 2023 under an international management agreement with the renowned Thai hospitality brand Dusit Thani. It began operations with 28 rooms and added 18 private pool villas in April 2024. By March 2025, the property reached full capacity with 54 deluxe rooms and the 18 villas, offering guests panoramic Himalayan views just an hour’s drive from Kathmandu.
The company invested an additional Rs 43 million to create ultra-luxury accommodations, bringing the total project cost higher than the original estimate of Rs 26 million per room. Room rates currently start at around Rs 19,000 per night.
With strong occupancy and growing reputation among both domestic and international travellers, the resort is now preparing to go public through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the coming months.
The project is promoted by a group of prominent Nepali and Indian investors including Vishnu Mor, Radhika Vegetable Oil, Rajendrakumar Kabra, Ashishkumar Goyal, and Ramesh Hamal. The company has already obtained credit ratings for long- and short-term borrowings totalling Rs 1.565 billion as it looks to fund further expansion and working capital needs.
The rapid revenue growth in its very first full year of operations signals strong demand for high-end, nature-focused luxury getaways within easy reach of the capital, giving the Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort a solid foundation ahead of its planned stock market debut.
