Birat Healthcare Industries reports strong growth, Rs 450 million revenue in single year

Kathmandu: Birat Healthcare Industries, a fast-growing Nepali manufacturer of health and hygiene products, has posted impressive revenue of Rs 450 million in the last fiscal year, marking a significant leap from Rs 362 million in calendar year 2024 and just Rs 93 million in 2023.

The company achieved 24 percent year-on-year growth in the latest fiscal year, though its net profit margin narrowed to 2.56 percent (down from 9.97 percent in 2024) as it ramped up production and invested heavily in expansion.

Established in 2021, Birat Healthcare produces a wide range of essential hygiene and medical items including sanitary pads, surgical and examination gloves, baby and adult diapers, disposable masks, and surgical caps. Its popular brands in the market include White Moon sanitary pads, Birat Tulip gloves, Baby Moon diapers, and Birat Tulip adult diapers.

Raw materials account for around 84 percent of total expenditure, reflecting the import-heavy nature of the sector. The company is now putting the finishing touches on its own dedicated diaper manufacturing plant, which is expected to significantly boost local production capacity and reduce costs once operational.

Led by Chairman Gyanendra Man Singh Karki, Birat Healthcare is preparing for further growth and has already secured credit ratings for up to Rs 1.5 billion in combined long- and short-term borrowings (Rs 463.6 million long-term and Rs 1.036 billion short-term).
