Siddhartha Bank launches Nepal’s first fully digital virtual credit card in partnership with Fonepay

Kathmandu: Siddhartha Bank Limited has rolled out the country’s first completely digital credit card, the “Siddhartha Fonepay Virtual Credit Card”, designed to make cashless payments faster, safer and truly cardless.

Unveiled during a special event celebrating the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), the new virtual card is issued instantly through the bank’s mobile banking app in collaboration with Fonepay’s vast merchant network. Customers can start spending immediately at over 1.8 million Fonepay QR-enabled outlets across Nepal without ever needing a physical plastic card.

The card comes with full digital control: users can apply, activate, set spending limits, lock/unlock, and view statements, all from within the same app. Security features include one-tap card freeze and real-time transaction alerts.

To celebrate the launch, every transaction made with the virtual card will earn an instant 50 percent cashback, up to a maximum of Rs 750, effectively covering the annual fee for most users. The limited-time offer runs from 7 December 2025 to 7 January 2026.

Siddhartha Bank says the product is aimed at tech-savvy customers who want the convenience and rewards of a credit card without the hassle of carrying one. For more details, customers can reach the bank’s 24/7 “Siddhartha Care” helpline anytime.
