Mahindra’s official distributor in Nepal sees 28% sales surge in 2025

Kathmandu: Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, has reported a strong 28 percent increase in business during calendar year 2025 compared to 2024.

The company recorded total sales of Rs 7.13 billion in 2025, up from Rs 5.56 billion the previous year. For context, its turnover stood at Rs 5.15 billion in 2023, Rs 12.94 billion in 2022 (its peak in recent years), and Rs 12.08 billion in 2021.

Established in 1991, Agni Incorporated remains the sole official seller of Mahindra passenger vehicles and tractors in the country, with a nationwide network of 17 company-owned showrooms and 16 provincial dealerships.

Commercial vehicles continued to drive the bulk of the growth. Two flagship pickup models, the Scorpio Pik-Up and Bolero Pik-Up, alone accounted for roughly 90 percent of total revenue in the last fiscal year. The commercial vehicle segment, particularly pickups and tractors, posted an impressive 65 percent year-on-year increase according to the latest credit rating report.

Electric vehicles still represent only a small portion of the portfolio, though the company has recently launched new Mahindra EV models to expand its presence in the fast-growing green mobility space.

In a related development, Agni Incorporated has obtained fresh credit ratings for bank facilities totalling Rs 3.265 billion, comprising Rs 350 million in long-term loans and Rs 2.915 billion in short-term working capital facilities.

The company is owned by prominent Nepali business figures Cabinet Shrestha, Susan Vaidya, and Arjun Prasad Sharma.
