HIDCL announces 3.5% dividend from last fiscal year’s profits

Kathmandu: The Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited (HIDCL), a government-backed entity focused on financing and promoting hydropower projects in Nepal, has declared a total dividend of 3.5 percent on its current paid-up capital based on the previous fiscal year’s earnings.

The distribution includes 1.5 percent in bonus shares to boost shareholder equity and 2 percent in cash dividend (including provisions for tax purposes).

The board of directors approved this proposal during a meeting held in late November.

This announcement follows the ongoing trend of Nepali companies, particularly in the financial and energy sectors, revealing shareholder payouts earlier this season to align with regulatory expectations.

HIDCL plays a key role in supporting Nepal’s ambitious hydropower development goals.
