Kathmandu: Laxmi Group has marked the 52nd anniversary of its founding. What began in 1973 as a small sweet shop called “Laxmi Mithai Bhandar” has grown into one of Nepal’s leading and most successful business conglomerates.
Over the past five decades, the group has expanded into multiple sectors, including automobiles (passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and spare parts), electronics, steel, paper, plastics, and confectionery manufacturing. Today, it employs more than 2,000 people and continues to play a significant role in Nepal’s economic development.
On this milestone occasion, the group organized various community initiatives under its corporate social responsibility framework. Nationwide blood donation programmes were conducted to promote health awareness and support public welfare.
Additionally, Laxmi Intercontinental donated educational materials and essential supplies to the Self Help Group for Cerebral Palsy in Dhapakhel. Meanwhile, Hyundai Kathmandu, a part of the group, carried out a cleanliness drive at the historic Bhatbhateni Temple premises in Naxal, demonstrating its commitment to environmental protection and heritage conservation.
As it completes 52 years, Laxmi Group reaffirmed its belief that sustainable business success goes hand in hand with genuine social responsibility. The group remains dedicated to contributing positively to the community while continuing its journey of growth and excellence.
