Siddhartha Premier Insurance contributes Rs 10.1 million to Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund


Kathmandu: Siddhartha Premier Insurance has contributed Rs 10.1 million to the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund to support rebuilding and recovery efforts following damage caused during the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9.

The company said the contribution was made to assist in the reconstruction of damaged physical structures, economic recovery, and relief-related activities arising from the unrest. The funds were provided under Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited’s corporate social responsibility initiative to the government-established reconstruction fund.

The cheque equivalent to the contribution was formally handed over on Monday by Siddhartha Premier Insurance Chairman Suresh Lal Shrestha to Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal. The handover ceremony was attended by the Finance Secretary, the Revenue Secretary, and the company’s Chief Executive Officer, among other officials.

Finance Minister Khanal expressed appreciation on behalf of the government for the company’s support to the reconstruction fund, acknowledging the role of the private sector in national recovery efforts.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the latest contribution brings the total amount deposited in the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund to Rs 133.565 million.
