Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul returns to parking bay after technical alert

Kathmandu: A Turkish Airlines aircraft preparing to depart for Istanbul was forced to return to the parking bay after a technical issue was detected during takeoff procedures.

Flight TK-727 had been scheduled to leave Kathmandu at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, but airport officials said the plane was redirected from the runway area back to parking as a precaution.

Acting General Manager of the airport, Tek Nath Sitaula, said the aircraft had already received clearance and begun its takeoff roll when the pilot noticed a problem with the indication system and halted the process.

Following the warning, the aircraft was brought back for inspection. Authorities say the plane will be cleared to fly again once technical checks are completed and the issue is resolved.
