Kathmandu: Chairperson of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Chandrakala Paudel, has administered the oath of office and secrecy to Amrit Lamsal as Chair of the Board of Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited.
The Government of Nepal appointed Lamsal, who currently serves as Deputy Director General at the Customs Department, to lead the reinsurance company’s board until further notice.
The oath-taking ceremony was held on Thursday at the central office of the Nepal Insurance Authority in Kupandol. The event was attended by senior officials including the Authority’s Executive Director Sushil Dev Subedi and the Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited, along with other board members and officials.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited plays a key role in strengthening the country’s insurance sector by retaining risk within the domestic market and supporting the financial stability of insurers. Lamsal’s appointment comes at a time when the insurance industry is undergoing regulatory and structural reforms aimed at enhancing governance and capital adequacy.
