Kathmandu: Hotel Mechi Crown in eastern Nepal’s Jhapa district has reported a 52 percent jump in revenue in 2025 compared to the previous year, reflecting strong post-pandemic growth in the hospitality sector.
Operated by Vegas City Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the hotel recorded revenue of Rs 444 million in 2025, up from Rs 293 million in 2024. The property had previously generated Rs 277 million in 2023 and Rs 187 million in 2022, showing consistent expansion over the past four years.
Established in 2014, the company operates a five-star hotel, casino, and resort under the Hotel Mechi Crown brand. Located near the Indian border, it is recognized as the first five-star hotel in eastern Nepal. Spread across 54,000 square meters, the property offers 205 rooms. According to rating disclosures, the average construction cost per room stood at approximately Rs 10.5 million.
For casino operations, Hotel Mechi Crown has licensed the facility to Vegas Recreation Nepal. As the casino is run by a third party within the hotel premises, the company earns monthly rental income and is not directly involved in casino management.
The company’s ownership is led by Balram Sapkota with a 40 percent stake, followed by Pavitrakumari Karki with 30 percent and Sirjana Kakshapati with 11 percent. The firm has secured a credit rating of Rs 1.03 billion for its long-term borrowings.
