Dolakha: Police fired warning shots into the air after clashes broke out at a polling station in Malu during voting on Thursday. The situation escalated when disputes among supporters of different political parties turned into scuffles while the voting process was underway, prompting security forces to intervene to restore order.
According to officials, police resorted to firing in the air after an attempt was made to physically attack election staff deployed at the polling station. The incident occurred in Malu of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4 in Dolakha District, forcing authorities to suspend the voting process temporarily.
Following the warning shots, protesters began chanting slogans around the polling center. Authorities later called an all-party meeting to address the dispute, and discussions were ongoing on how to resume the voting process safely.
