Kathmandu: Voter turnout in Nepal’s ongoing parliamentary election reached around 33 percent by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Election Commission Nepal.
Commission data shows that more than 6.22 million votes had been cast nationwide by that time in the election for the House of Representatives of Nepal.
Among the provinces, the highest number of ballots was recorded in Koshi Province, where 1,149,571 voters had cast their votes by mid-afternoon. This was followed by Madhesh Province, with 1,024,441 votes.
In Lumbini Province, the election authority reported that 977,419 votes had been cast during the same period, reflecting strong voter participation across the region as polling continued throughout the day.
