Kathmandu: Shishir Khanal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured victory in Kathmandu Constituency No. 6 in Nepal’s House of Representatives election, winning the seat for a second consecutive term with a commanding margin over his rivals.
According to the vote count, Khanal received a total of 27,916 votes. While the final vote tally confirms his clear lead, the Election Officer’s Office has yet to make the formal announcement of his victory.
His closest competitor, Krishna Baniya Chhetri of the Nepali Congress, secured 6,667 votes, leaving Khanal ahead by a margin of 21,064 votes.
Aman Kumar Maske of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) finished with 4,518 votes, while Uddhav Raj Bhetuwal of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 1,321 votes. Hemlal Sharma, also known as Himal Sharma, representing the Nepal Communist Party, garnered 1,260 votes in the constituency.
