RSP leads early vote count across several provinces in parliamentary election


Kathmandu: As vote counting continues in Nepal’s parliamentary election, early results show varying performances by political parties across different provinces. Preliminary data released so far indicates that the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has established a significant lead in several regions.

In Koshi Province, RSP has already secured victory in two constituencies and is leading in 13 others. The Shram Sanskriti Party is ahead in five seats, while Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) (CPN-UML) leads in four. The Nepali Congress has won one seat and is currently leading in two more.

In Madhesh Province, RSP has already won four seats and is leading in 26 constituencies. Both CPN-UML and Nepali Congress are ahead in two seats each.

In Bagmati Province, RSP has won 13 constituencies and is leading in another 15. The Communist Party of Nepal is ahead in three seats, while CPN-UML leads in one. Nepali Congress has secured one seat.

In Gandaki Province, RSP has won six seats and is leading in seven others. Nepali Congress has secured two seats, while CPN-UML leads in two constituencies. One independent candidate has also won a seat.

In Lumbini Province, RSP has won four constituencies and is leading in 17 more. CPN-UML and the Communist Party of Nepal have each won one seat and are also leading in one additional constituency each. Nepali Congress is currently leading in one seat.

In Karnali Province, the Communist Party of Nepal has won one seat and is leading in four others. Nepali Congress has secured one seat and leads in two more. CPN-UML, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and RSP are each leading in one constituency.

In Sudurpashchim Province, RSP has won one seat and is leading in another. Nepali Congress is ahead in four constituencies, while CPN-UML has won one seat and leads in one more.

Election officials say vote counting is still underway across the country, and the final outcome could change as more results are confirmed.
