Kathmandu: Veteran leader Bhim Rawal of the Communist Party of Nepal has been defeated in the parliamentary race from Achham District constituency 1. He lost to Nepali Congress candidate Bharat Bahadur Swar by a slim margin of 526 votes.
According to the final vote tally, Swar secured 10,759 votes, while Rawal received 10,233 votes. The closely contested race saw the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) candidate Deepak Bahadur Saud finish third with 7,389 votes, while Om Prakash Rawal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party garnered 1,739 votes.
