Kathmandu: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has continued a regular market monitoring. It monitored 13 firms in a day alone.
Among those, two firms were fined for their failure to maintain standard. The Department fined Rs 20,000 to the Sindhu Fruits and Fresh Justice of Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur, and Rs 10,000 to the Panchakanya Tridev Dairy at New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. They were taken action in line with Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
The monitoring agency also directed 11 enterprises to ensure improvement in service by paying heed to consumers’ rights and practice of fair market.
The monitoring team also comprises the local level representatives, consumer rights defenders and stakeholders.
