17 tourism and aviation companies queue for IPOs


Kathmandu: A total of 17 companies from Nepal’s tourism and aviation sectors are preparing to launch initial public offerings (IPOs), according to applications currently under review at the Securities Board of Nepal.

Among them are three five-star hotels that together plan to issue 11.7 million shares. Akama Hotel has applied to issue 4.285 million shares worth about Rs 428.58 million. Similarly, Varnabas Museum Hotel plans to float 3.96 million shares valued at Rs 396 million. Another five-star property, Ichchha Hotel, has sought approval to issue 3.5 million shares worth Rs 350 million.

Several other tourism businesses are also seeking to go public. Apex Hospitality plans to issue 2.25 million shares, while Annapurna Cable Car has applied to float 4.34 million shares. Thamel Plaza Hotel intends to issue 2.25 million shares.

Additional companies awaiting approval include Mountain Glory Limited, which has proposed issuing 4 million shares; Maulakalika Cable Car with 1.879 million shares; Nagarkot Resort with 1.5 million shares; and Hotel Sabrina with about 4.704 million shares.

Meanwhile, Holiday Inn Express has applied to issue 3.8 million shares, Atithi Resort and Spa plans to float 1.625 million shares, and Hotel Park Land has requested approval to issue 1.5 million shares.

In the aviation sector, three companies are also preparing IPOs. Shree Airlines has applied to issue shares at a premium price of Rs 200. Kailash Helicopter has sought approval to issue 350,000 shares at a premium of Rs 327, while Prabhu Helicopter has applied to float 612,500 shares.

The securities regulator said all these applications remain in the IPO approval pipeline and will be reviewed before permission is granted for public issuance.
