Myagdi: Tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara have started rafting on the Kaligandaki River, targeting domestic tourists.
Rafting has been started on the Kaligandaki River from Farse in Jaljala Rural Municipality of Parbat to Nayapul in Kushma Municipality, to extend the stay of tourists visiting the tourism capital, Pokhara.
Organized by the Pokhara Visit Year Implementation Committee, a team of tourism entrepreneurs, people’s representatives, representatives of the Metropolitan City, industrialists, businessmen and media persons launched the rafting in the Farse-Nayapul section.
Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, coordinator of the Pokhara Visit Year Implementation Committee, said that 38 people participated in the rafting.
Tourists can enjoy rafting in the Farse-Nayapul section after reaching there in two hours by car from Pokhara, and they can also visit Kushma, Baglung, Beni, Galeshwor. It takes one hour and 30 minutes to raft from Farse to Nayapul, a distance of about 10 kilometres.
Targeting the Pokhara Visit Year, the committee had earlier promoted rafting on the Marsyangdi and Seti rivers.
The months of Kartik and Chait in the Lunar Calendar are considered favourable for rafting.
